                          Mounted Lessons

Instruction is offered to serious students interested in improving their competitive riding and training techniques,  as well as beginning riders seeking to become acquainted with the horse and acquire skills  leading to lifetime enjoyment. Edgelea specializes in working with children and young adults; safety is our first and foremost goal  emphasized in all our programs.

Our teaching methods all have proven procedures in place to keep your child as safe as possible. Students are started in an introductory, private lesson so the instructor may evaluate ability and temperament.

After a rapport has been established, students are placed into appropriate groups or semi-private lessons. Groups consist of four or less riders, semi-privates consist of two riders. As riders progress, they are invited into private lessons as the instructor deems necessary to develop their skills and equestrian sophistication.

Private lessons are also very helpful when preparing for competition. Students progress at their own pace and are not pushed beyond their capacity. Students with more competitive goals are readily identified and encouraged to reach their full potential.

                         Unmounted Lessons

Edgelea strives to develop a complete equestrian capable of  performing the many important procedures and unmounted tasks required in true horsemanship. Unmounted lessons are offered within the program to educate students on many topics such as:

  •  tack use, cleaning and repair
  •  horse transportation
  •  stable management
  •  emergency care
  •  equine therapy
Unmounted lessons are given in platforms of:
  •  classroom lessons
  •  field trips
  •  seminars
  •  videography consultations
